As a young man, Robert moved to Maine and worked as the Artist in Residence at the Maine Maritime Museum. Over the years he gained a deep respect for the many men and women who faced the daunting challenges of making a living from the sea. Robert brings that knowledge to his work, not merely painting a scene but knowing the subject intimately. His paintings capture a rapidly disappearing world of wooden boats and the lifestyle of generations of families that had a connection the sea.
